What difference does having convictions make?
The difference that convictions make depends on the insurer, the conviction and your age.
Common conviction codes and their explanations are listed here;
SP30 - Speeding on a public highway
SP50 - Speeding on the motorway
IN10 - Driving without insurance
DR10 - Drink Driving
CU10 - Bald Tyres
CD10 - Normally follows an accident in which you were driving without due care and attention
XX99 - The code used to symbolise a 'totting up' ban.
Like all insurance matters, the view insurers take differs from insurer to insurer. Typically if you have suffered a single sP30 speeding offence, your insurance will not change dramatically, although if your insurer is particularly harsh with regard to convictions then this is not necessarily true.
