What is totting up?
Totting up refers to the ban that occurs when you accumulate over 12 ponts on your driving licence in any three year period.
Any ban has to be declared to your insurance company and unlike convictions which are normally valid for 5 years for insurance, a firm will ask you whether you have ever had a ban.
