Why should I insure?
In the UK, car insurance is a legal requirement following the laws known as the Road Traffic Act, last amended 1988. The insured pays a premium in exchange for the cover of the risk that you are accepted to be by the insurance company, providing your policy. The RTA requires that you insure a vehicle for third party risks, which is why the minimum requirement in the UK for any driver is third party cover.
