MOT
 |
Policies for provisional or first time drivers |
The law requires any vehicles of 3 years and over to have a valid MOT certificate. The certificate has to be issued by a qualified mechanic and its purpose is to validate the safety of cars on UK roads. The MOT is how the roadworthiness of cars is assessed.
You are unable to tax a vehicle without an MOT and driving a car without it is an offence.
The MOT tests your cars safety and broadly reviews the following items. This list is not exclusive but gives an idea of the MOT test. Full details of what an MOT does are available at the VOSA website.
