Road Tax
Car Tax applies to most cars in the UK . Some vintage cars are tax exempt but the majority of UK cars require a valid tax disc.
To attain a tax disc you need the following items;
- MOT Certificate
- Valid Car Insurance Certificate or Cover Note
- Ownership Documentaion
The easiest place to get your car tax is the post office.
If your car is off the road then you can declare it off road using a SORN application which is available at the post office.
It is an offence to drive car without valid tax. The latest costs of tax discs, which are available for 6 month or 12 month periods, are available at this DVLA page.
