Daewoo seeks to help young drivers drive safely
Daewoo has launched a road safety initiative designed to combat problems with young drivers and ensure that they have a full understanding of the issues facing motorists.
It has begun a course designed to improve the driving skills of young drivers in Wales , which will also touch upon the need for car insurance and how safety issues encompass a sense of responsibility.
Executive Officer of the Road Safety Council of Wales Steve Baker said that it was not enough simply to pass the driving test.
"The Daewoo Young Drivers Challenge, being launched today, aims to bridge the gap between the basic level that drivers achieve in passing their test and the knowledge and experience required to become a good driver," he said.
"The initiative helps to put wise heads on young shoulders."
In 2002 nearly 3,000 car occupants between the ages of 17 and 24 were killed or hurt on Welsh roads.
