Modified cars leave young drivers in car insurance limbo

Young drivers find it increasingly difficult to secure affordable car insurance, according to research.

A recent Max Power study found that some young drivers felt they had been priced out of the market.

"Typically, young drivers can pay anything from £800 to £2000 a year for motor insurance and even more if they have a modified car," said Max Power editor John Sootheran.

Insurers are being urged to do more to offer young people more affordable deals.
