RAC seeks to keep it safe for youngsters
The RAC Foundation has underlined the importance of driver safety and car insurance among young drivers in new analysis.
Car insurance firm RAC says that a lack of precautions and preparation sees the equivalent of seventeen passenger planes crash each year in motoring terms.
Basic safety checks and an anticipation of the potential risks facing drivers - especially among young drivers is the key according to the RAC.
It says that the government could also help by encouraging safety courses among young drivers.
It says that more must be done to tackle the "unacceptably high level of death and injury among young drivers".
